Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist in Kansas and Missouri
Fees, insurance and wait times → FAQ
Who this is for
Children and teens with OCD, anxiety, panic, ADHD, depression, trauma, sleep problems, or behavior concerns, and parents who want a psychiatrist who will explain the options plainly.
How visits work for families
Visits are by video, Monday through Thursday. A parent or guardian takes part for about 20 to 30 minutes, and older teens may also have time to talk on their own. The child or teen needs to be physically in Kansas or Missouri (or another state where Dr. Brown is licensed) during the visit.
The first visit is an evaluation of about 90–100 minutes, covering development, school, family history, past treatment, and what you want to change.
Medication and therapy together
When medication makes sense, Dr. Brown explains why, starts carefully, and checks in on effects. Visits can also include talk therapy and practical guidance on sleep and routines. He does not provide ERP himself but works with ERP therapists for kids and teens with OCD.
Care that can continue into adulthood
Because Dr. Brown is also an adult psychiatrist, a teen's care doesn't have to switch doctors at 18.
Fees
The practice is out-of-network. A new-patient evaluation (about 90–100 minutes) is $600; follow-ups are $265 for 30 minutes or $420 for 60 minutes. You get a superbill to submit to your insurer, and HSA/FSA cards are welcome.
